To All,
Is there any doubt now why Dick Cheney likes to fish for trout in Wyoming?
In other news:
"I Don't
Like You Because You Are Going To Get Me Killed" Update:
David Perlman, Science Editor of the San Francisco Chronicle,
reported on August 7 as to the awarding of a temporary injunction in a case
filed by our old friends at the Natural Resources Defense Council.
It seems that NRDC has been able to convince U.S. District Court Judge
Florence Marie Cooper that, outside of the existence of an actual state of
war, the US Navy's use of active sonar frequencies capable of detecting
diesel electric boats in shallow water off the coast constitutes an a hazard
to the hearing and lifestyles of certain protected marine mammals.
Of course, the Navy's ability to use the various kinds of active sonar at
it's disposal is instrumental in it's ability to prevent the kind of
pre-emptive "first strike" that has been of concern to national security
strategists since the days of Pearl Harbor. That NRDC seems to favor whales
over national security only draws more attention to their current campaigns
to expand the dominion of animals over man beyond that of the nation's
wildlife reserves and national parks.
In essence, NRDC's actions have given an actual attack blueprint for any
audacious Third-World-Power-With-A-Grudge who purchases naval vessels,
sub-launched cruise missiles, and atomic blueprints from those sources
currently in need of hard currency. Given that response times to a
nuclear-armed cruise missile launch close in-shore could be 6 minutes or
less, and that said launch vessel could literally shield itself from
detection and/or pursuit by cruising in the company of grey whales, NRDC
seemingly would invite the US to suffer a permanent state of vulnerability
no matter having the ability to be able to prevent such attacks in the first
place.
The real "zinger" in this debate is that if the "science" that the NRDC has
presented to the court is anywhere near the "quality" of that which was
presented in their current efforts over the California Condor, they may just
have pulled the biggest "con job" since Michael Bellesiles hoisted pen to
paper. Unfortunately the Navy may not have the same level of "private sector
ingenuity" at it's disposal that certain other public interest groups do
have. It perhaps may be left up to these private sector interests to go
literally on "safari", in the hope that one day the $ 76 million per year
NRDC is literally converted to a Boone and Crockett-class trophy mounted on
a wall somewhere. Stay tuned.

Let's Be
Careful Out There:
Bonnie Eslinger reports at yesterday's Examiner.com
that Wunderpoodle Gavin Newsom is conniving with Assemblyman
Mark Leno to come up with state legislation that would ban gun show's at
Daly City's Cow Palace.
Newsom and Leno, not content with making San
Francisco more in alignment with the societal organization one finds in
Terry Gilliam's "Brazil", are now trying to tell other
city's what to do and how to sell it. (Note- Eslinger does remark that
the Cow Palace is owned and operated by the California Department of
Food and Agriculture, so Newsom and Leno are "technically" poking their
noses into "Ahnold's business" as well).
Furthermore, Newsom and Leno have seemingly
decided to borrow from the "Michael Bloomberg-Marches-Through-Georgia"
Playbook by apparently arranging for San Francisco's Finest to cross
jurisdictional boundaries and run "buyer stings" in the Cow Palace
Parking Lot. (Note to Gavin- Bloomberg's minions "just missed it by that
much" a stay with complimentary accommodations at one of Georgia's full
service public retention facilities, given that it is literally a
'Bozo-No-No' to lie to a Federally Licensed Firearms Dealer. Perhaps you
should keep that in mind before it's too late...).
While it would excite activist souls a tad to
pull a "double-sting" by reporting any and all attempts by Newsom's
flunkies to the nearest BATF agent trying to do the same thing (In the
age of Youtube, such footage would be literally priceless...), it is
probably better for everyone to remember that all firearms transactions
in California need to be carried out under the auspices of any of the
number of friendly transfer dealers likely to be sprinkled throughout
the facility. The small fee needed by these FFL's to do business is
infinitely cheaper in time and money that having to hire the valuable
services of Chuck Michel over at Trutanich Michel (Note to Chuck- Sorry
for the backhanded shameless plug, but I am sure that you are busier
these days dealing with more important matters than folks making picky
mistakes over pennies). Let's be careful out there, and any digital
footage of the KKops of the SFPD in action would be most gratefully
appreciated for blogger distribution.
