The NRA Members' Council of East Contra Costa County is proud to support the safety programs of the National Rifle Association. We are actively working to certify new firearms safety instructors to help with existing training programs at United Sportsmen, Inc., and other places. Check back here often for updated schedules of local courses and other safety information. The National Rifle Association has many safety programs and resources listed on their Web site. The "NRA Basic Gun Safety Rules" page is a great place to start if you're looking for more information. We urge all parents to teach their children the safety message of Eddie Eagle®. If a child finds a gun, they should: Stop! Don't Touch Leave the Area Tell an Adult Teach your children this simple message as soon as possible. We also urge all gun owners and prospective gun owners to learn the "NRA Basic Gun Safety Rules" attend an NRA safety course for each type of firearm they own (rifle, pistol, shotgun).
