FSD's are not produced for all firearms and, in effect, implements a ban on those firearms for which they cannot be acquired. Masquerading as a solution to the problem caused by AB106, Senator Scott's 1999 "Firearm Safety Device Bill", SB510 would delay implementation of some provisions of AB106 until after this year's state-wide elections. SB510, if passed, will camouflage some of the worst effects of AB106 including prohibiting the sales of many legal handguns - those for which FSD's are not available. SB510 IS NOT THE SOLUTION TO AB106 AND MUST BE DEFEATED. SB510 is being promoted as an "Urgency Bill", which requires 54 votes to pass (2/3 majority). There are currently 50 Democrats and 30 Republicans in the State Assembly. If all Republicans VOTE NO ON SB510 this anti-gun scheme will fail. SB510 could be voted on as early as 8:30 A.M tomorrow, Thursday, 1/23. Please contact EVERY ASSEMBLY MEMBER IMMEDIATELY and tell them to vote "NO" on SB510.
